Yarn & Fiber

Driven by curiosity and built on purpose, this is where bold thinking meets thoughtful execution. Let’s create something meaningful together.

For makers who also love to read

We carry yarn for the same reason we carry books. Both are acts of patience and attention. Both ask you to slow down, stay with something, and see it through to the end.

Each week we host a fiber arts club called “St*ch and B*tch” where people who crochet, knit, needle point, or any other of the fiber arts can come, sit, learn, talk, and (more importantly) find community.

The club meets every Friday from 6p-9p at Unfettered Books.

You'll find Malabrigo, Universal Yarns, ChaioGoo, Lykke and more curated by Lisa, who has been crocheting long enough to have opinions about everything.

"Making something with your hands and losing yourself in a story are the same kind of medicine."

WHY YARN IN A BOOKSHOP?

Two crafts. One kind of person.

We've never thought of books and fiber arts as separate interests. The people who make things with their hands tend to be the same people who read deeply and who are comfortable with a long project. They find satisfaction in the slow accumulation of something beautiful. A bookshop that carries good yarn just makes sense.

Lisa crochets exclusively with Tulip Etimo hooks and has been working with Malabrigo Rios long enough to have very strong feelings about colorways. Brian reads. Both are forms of devotion. We wanted a store that honored both.

Our yarn section isn't an afterthought. It's curated the same way our books are — with a point of view, with intention, and with the conviction that the right material in the right hands produces something worth keeping.
